A Bharatanatyam performance usually requires the dancer to wear elaborate costumes and jewelry. Dance costumes have complex patterns and are usually tailored in India. A Bharatanatyam dancer spends 8-10 years learning the art form, until he/she is ready for a solo dance debut performance. During this learning process, the dancer participates in local dance performances and competitions, dance school annual day events etc. Several different costumes are used. Depending on the material and style used, the price of these costumes can be prohibitive. Gejjai strives to make this journey for the dancer and the family, a little easier. We offer dance costumes for rent at reasonable prices.
